This program is for businesspersons who would like to start or purchase a business in NWT and settle there permanently.
How to apply? Intake is paused until further process. You can not apply now (Sept 2021). To start your application, you will need to create an online profile on the NWT immigration website and submit your full application. You can not mail/email/fax your application. Then you will need to for a 4-day business trip to the area and appear in an interview with the immigration nomination team. If successful, you will be invited to apply and submit a “Formal Application” along with all supporting documents for the Entrepreneur nominee program. If the application is accepted, you will be asked to sign a Business Performance Agreement and receive a letter of support so you can apply for a temporary work permit. Upon arrival in Canada, you must start your business and run the business for 12 months to be eligible to apply for nomination. If you had fulfilled the requirement of the performance agreement, and your exit interview was also successful, you will be nominated under this program. You then need to submit your nomination certification and permanent residence application to IRCC for giving you permanent residency.
