The self-employment program enables people to immigrate to Canada permanently as a self-employed person.
If you are interested in this program, you must: Have relevant experience in cultural or sports activities, and be willing and able to make a significant contribution to culture and sports in Canada.
Canada welcomes successful entrepreneurs to find new opportunities and challenges. The self-employed class aims to encourage and promote the acceptance of such people. Both the federal and provincial/territorial governments welcome self-employed immigrants and provide assistance to successfully settle them in Canada.
This is one of the ever evolving programs where either the program requirements change or intake process changes frequently. For consultation or application, please feel free to contact us.
Self-employed immigrants must have relevant experience within five years immediately before the date of application. Work experience related to self-employed persons means at least two years, starting within five years before the date of application:
Participation in cultural or sporting performances.
Participation in cultural or sporting events at the world-class level.
Two main features of this program include: First, no immigration conditions are imposed on this class. Second, Self-employed immigrants must have the experience, intention and ability to establish a business, which will at least create employment opportunities for them and make a significant contribution to Canadian cultural or sports activities.
