This category is for graduates of the Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) or the College of the North Atlantic (NCA) who have completed at least 2 years of full-time studies and have started/acquired a business. They can apply for nomination after operating the business for 1 year if they also intend to live in NL permanently.
How to apply? 1) Create an online profile and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), 2) If selected, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and you will be asked to provide application forms and supporting documentation, 3) OIM will ask you for an In-person interview and if you were successful, you will be sent a nomination certificate, and will be asked to incorporate your business. 4) within 6 months of receiving the nomination, you have to apply for permanent residence. During this period of time, you have to maintain your legal status (work permit).

Experience | Must have at least 1-year continuous business management or business ownership experience (minimum ownership share of 33.33%) |

Education | Have completed a 2-year degree program in the last two years from Memorial University or College of the North Atlantic. |
Others | Age: minimum of 21 years old. Business plan: must provide a business continuity plan, including supporting financial documentation. Job creation: must be able to create 1 full-time job (for at least one year). if buying a business, the business must have been with the current owner for the last 5 years. Priority sectors: regional economic development or high-demand industries or sectors such as agriculture, aquaculture, technology, and natural resources. Type of Business: There is a restriction on the type of business, as some businesses are ineligible. |
